Today I received some information from the ICRC in Geneva regarding my father, who was a POW in USA and England from 1944 - 1948. He was a Feldwebel in the 343 ID, and was captured in Brest/France. As place of detention it says in the letter:

"Prisoner of war in American hands detained in Camp Hearne, coming from 'St. Teconnec' (according to a capture card dated 28.09.1944 and a capture card dated 03.11.1944).
Prisoner of war in British hands arrived at PoW camp 2228 on 09.04.1946, coming from the USA (according to a form of personal particulars dated 11.04.1946)."

My question: where is Camp Hearne, and where is St. Teconnec?

Now all I need is to find anything on St. Teconnec. As my father was captured in Brest, France, it might be a place there? All I could find was a St. Connec, perhaps they made a spelling mistake in the paperwork.

I think it must be Saint Thegonnec (postal code 29410). A town located at 50 km of Brest.

Thank you so much, Prosper! Yes, I agree with you, it is Saint Thegonnec. I found even more links now (with the correct spelling) in English. When my father arrived in Texas as POW, he was coming from Saint Thegonnec according to the paperwork I received.
