British Fighters on the Attack - Afrika Korps

Corporal Werner Mork of the 686 Nachschub Abbeilung in the Afrika Korps has given us a vivid description of what it was like to be attacked in the open desert by British fighter-bombers.

In addition to the attack and its gruesome aftermath, he goes on to talk about the daily life of a soldier in North Africa in 1942.

He also discusses German soldier attitudes toward their Italian comrades including the 'rear echelon bastards' in the colonial towns away from the front.

Nothing is left out of his accounts including the official army brothels.

He survived a second air raid, but the English POW's in the neighboring camp were not so lucky.
