A good place to start would be to read Antony Beevor's famous recent historical bestseller
Stalingrad. It should be in just about any public library. Good luck!

We have to remember that Stalin death in 1953 really help the POW in the Gulag because nobody would have never return to Germany.

Hello,
How can one trace a soldiers unit & duties if he was part of the Sixth Army and survived?
He returned home after 5 years in captivity.
