Can anyone offer any info on the "47" different Reichspostdirektionen of Greater Germany? Organization, personell, rank structure, etc.. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Reichspostdirektionen

Just finished reading the Osprey Publication, "The German Home Front 1939-45" by Brian L. Davis. Some mention is made of the Reichspostdirektion; he states there were only 38 Reichspostdirektion in Germany. With the exception of the Berlin Reichspostdirektion, all 37 Reichspostdirektionen(Regional Directorates) were headed by a President. The Berlin Reichspostdirektion was directly under the Ministry of Posts.

Have you checked out Die Deutsche Feldpost by Horst Hinrichsen? It covers Feldpost but I also believe it covers regular German mail as well.
