OK, I am still working on the stamps but saw 2x coins for sale at a local flea market today. Having NO WWII coins I have no idea on what they are worth.

1- 1937 2dm silver coin $14Cdn
1- 1938 2Dm silver coin $15Cdn

I understand to look for condition, damage etc. Both were in very good condition. Have/had been in circulation. Details are still there.

Would they be real silver coins??

Any help will be appreciated.

The 2 DM or Reichmark are .1607 oz ASW (average silver weight).

It should be noted that there are also mint marks on German coins. For a 37 the mint mark is either A, D, E, F, J, G, or J. They are worth about $4 US as VF based on 2005 prices.

The 38 can have a mint mark of A, B, D, E, F, G, or J. and are worth about the same.

the average price of silver today is about $13.50 oz (troy oz. is greater then an imperial oz. about 1.1 greater) taken from http://www.kitco.com.

The coins you want have about .1607 of a troy oz in them or about $2.16 US of silver. Add a couple of $$ because it is a TR item and would pay maybe $5 cnd. max for it unless it is in unused condition.
