Looking for Stamps

Post by sniper1shot »

Hello all;
I have one set of German stamps with action photos on them. I know there are quite a few others out there too.
I am LOOKING FOR all "action" stamps of the German Armed Forces in WWII and/or countries allied to Germany.
I would like them to not be marked with anything etc etc etc.
Any and all help will be appreciated......I have also already checked Ebay too. :?

Hallo Sniper1shot,

Sadly, there aren't that many 'action shots' in the 3rd Reich domain. There are 2 principle sets that would appeal to you.

The first was issue on 21 March 1843 and consists of 12 values, each with a view of war scene. Michels Katalog numbers these as 831-842.

The second set was issues on 11 March 1944 and consists of 13 values.
Michels Katalog numbers are 873 through 885.

Both sets were issued to commemorate Heros Memorial Day.

These are very common and don't command a high price. I suggest you go to the German site for eBay and look under the Briefmarken section. Go to the Deutsches Reich vor 1944. You will find these sets very easily for little money. A hint: buy only mint UNHINGED with original gum stamps. They will be worth more. Further do not buy the stamps individually. Buy them as the complete set. They are too common to hunt and peck for the individual stamps.

If you need assistance, please PM me and I'll be happy to send you scanned images so you know what to look for.

Good hunting!!

Of course, Arne, you are correct. I neglected to consider Croatia. The Storm Division stamps and souvenir sheet would be good to consider as well, expense aside. There are the issues for the Belgien Legion as well as the Nederland issues for the Legion. Then there are the Schalburg vignettes. Sorry to say, while I have all these issues, posting on this site is difficult for me otherwise I would be pleased to show these items.

I have posted some of my material on the Militaria Collecting site in the Postage Stamps of WWII section. You may want to check out that site.

Regards,

Ramon

For some reason I missed all of these replies. I am interested in these stamps at a decent rate.
Please post scans if selling or PM me for my email to send scans.

I have 1 of the action series but need the other one. I was not aware that Croatia had a series also.
