The PR 7 in East Prussia - August 1939.
The regiment marched by train to Hamburg, where it arrived on July 31, 1939. On a steamer arrived in Königsberg on August 3, 1939. On August 4 parts of the regiment arrived in Zinten. On August 7 the whole regiment was there. On August 8, 1939, the regiment carried out an exercise with units of the Waffen-SS, which previously had hardly opportunity to work together with the tanks. On 9 and 10 August 1939, the regiment took part in exercises within the framework of larger organizations in the Stablack Training Area, about 15 kilometers southeast of Zinten. From 11 to 19 August 1939, the regiment participated mainly in exercises with smaller organizations. The interaction of the tank with other weapons had to be practiced. Also in this case, many organizations had never worked with the tanks. In their spare time, the soldiers helped with the harvest. From 20 to 22 August 1939, the regiment marched further south to the Liebstadt-Locken area. The HQ of the II. Abt. Moved to Brückendorf. On August 23, 1939, the regiment was ordered to prepare for a practice for a big parade for the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Battle of Tannenberg (that was the clue), on August 24, 1939.
