help find correct Forum for Photo

Post by Hiltraut Tieden »

I know that Feldgrau covers World War 1 and 2, but can anybody help direct me to a Forum where the following picture (uniforms) can be identified?
Thanks,
niece

My first guess would be that they are Hussars, but i can be wrong.
When the British fired, the Germans ducked.
When the Germans fired, the British ducked.
When the Americans fired everybody ducked....

Niece, at the risk of hurting Jason's feelings, you might consider http://www.feldpost.tv

There are some collectors on that site who might have an idea of what you're looking for?

Thanks, Maigewitter and Schultz! I had no clue what to even look for, and I think you are right. I found some online pictures what look similar. At least I know what direction to go!
Thanks Tom, I joined and hope to learn from all the great topics there as well! Of course, I will stay loyal to Feldgrau, no worry Jason!

update and closure

Post by Hiltraut Tieden »

A couple of days ago I received the answer to my question.
There is a Hussar-association in Grimma, not too far away where my great-uncle lived.
The chairman wrote, the regiment was without doubt the "2. koeniglich saechsisches Husaren Regiment Nr. 19,
under the chair of Queen Carola".
The uniforms were worn between 1876 - 1910.
I just thought I post the answer, I'll take the link off next month.

Nothing hurts my feelings.

We can create a pre-War section for these kinds of questions.

Great idea Jason, have been seeing more great photos like these from people.
Also have watched your site grow with many more topics.

Glad was able to assist in getting you a better idea of a direction Hiltraut.
