WTB: Dugdale, Sept 44 volume

Post by MadDog »

I am looking to buy:

"Jeff Dugdale, Panzer divisions - Panzergrenadier divisions - Panzer brigades of the army and the Waffen SS in the west : autumn 1944 - February 1945, Ardennes and Nordwind, their detailed and precise strengths and organisations"

Principally, the September volume, but the other volumes are wanted, too.

But the reviews of his books are not very good. Many errors and misinterpreations.

The reviews are mixed. He is famous for not sharing his sources but also for having information that no one else seems to have. I have seen an account of his house filled to the rafters with original documentation.
It seems he (along with M Wood who now posts on ML) has got on the wrong side many of the other researchers in this area.
The conflicts I have seen revolve around how you 'decode' a document and what type it is rather than a claim he is flat out wrong.

I am of course interested in "new" information, but that lack of verification makes me nervous. Still, getting copies of the series seems to be worthwhile.

I think the "Military Press" has what you're looking for:
