Silver ring enamelled 1914-16

Post by Matzke »

Any advice on where to track down a replacment ring.
My Great grand mother used to wear it constantly and left it to me. To my great chagrin I lost it many years ago and don't know where to start looking for a replacement.

Description from memory: Silver (800 mark) flat ring about 1 cm at widest face had enamel inlay of gothic cross with 1914-1916 in black, triclour band horizontal either side. Traces of 'oak leaves' either side of enamalling.

Can anyone tell me anything about this type of ring, where I may find pictures, or buy a replacement.

Interesting story. I inherited mine from my grandmother. She wore it nearly everyday as a younger girl. Very much as described to you. I will pull it out and post pictures for you. I wish I could read what is engraved on the inside. I have seen fakes on Ebay. Rarely have I seen another.

That would be brilliant Captain Emo. :D
Any idea what it signified?
Mine had no engraving inside except for the 800 (or could have been 900) mark

Thanks
