What was German army manpower in WWII?...
What was German army manpower in WWII?...
How many men did Germany field on the ground during WWII? I'm thinking it was around 2M. Not air or naval forces here, just land forces.
"What are they going to do, send me to Vietnam?"
A oft heard GI refrain in Vietnam in '68.

Re: What was German army manpower in WWII?...
At Normandy in 1944 they were able to field ~1,000,000 and if I recall correctly that was about 20% of their overall manpower in that sector so i'd take a guess at ~5,000,000?
I'll need to research around a bit before coming to a more accurate conclusion though.
