There's me thinking he was going to retire to a quiet country life and paint pictures!

To have any hope of answering that question you would have to define when After the War actaully was!

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.

There is a book in the library of the Holland America Liner "Volendam" which sets out his plans. Damned if I can remember the title &/or author. It was an American publication. Bottom line was that the war was going to last a hell of a long time, as the idea was to conquer all. Once over, live was going to be quite fantastic - for some, especially the Dutch, English & Scandinavians.
I really need to take greater note of the mundane.

Re: What were Hitler's plans for after the war?
We had an American Veteran who spoke last year at our World War Two Round Table group in our town. The group meets once a month and listens to a Veteran tell of his service.
Two years ago we had a German Signal Corp LT. who was a POW speak, he was truly my favorite, he was a great speaker and had a great story to tell.
One of our American Veterans told of taking some German Prisoners back to the command post. He offered them a cigarette and one in perfect English thanked him. He asked the American if he was from New England because of his accent and he was. The German knew the area the man came from as well as the Veteran did. The Veteran asked how this was possible, the German POW was being trained for when Germany won the war and started establishing authorities in various part of America. The young POW was trained to be an administrator in New England after Germany won the war. He was taught about the people, the country, natural resources etc.
The American Veteran said the young German POW was completely confident Germany would win the war.

Don't find this unusual. We tend to believe what our governments tell us.The American Veteran said the young German POW was completely confident Germany would win the war.
Are we not believing our government when they told us about Viet Nam and the war in Afghanistan against the
Taliban? No different in those days IMHO!
