Accuracy/Marksmanship of Soldiers during WWII

Post by GreyEdwards »

I am making a world war 2 mod for a video game and I'm making it as a "simulation", in the sense that I would like to follow historical aspects as closely as possible. While numbers on strength and equipment load out was easy to find, general soldiering skills was difficult.

I am interested in the general accuracy or marksmanship of soldiers of both sides during that era with weapons, mainly rifles and submachine guns. I tried searching around a little on google etc but I this information is rather hard to find.

I'm looking for information on things like marksmanship scores of troops.

In modern terms it will look something like this

Firing Positions @ 100 metres against Half body target in day light
Foxhole Supported, 6 hits of 6 shots.
Kneeling/Squatting, 4 hits of 6 shots
Prone, Unsupported, 5 hits of 6 shots.

The key criterias are; Weapon, Rate of Fire, Size of target, Range, Accuracy as well as Position adopted.
