Songs

die_unteroffizer,

At one time I had a link to a website that had songs. I'll try to find it for you. Also it seems that one of my SS books had the lyrics for a song they sang. I'll do my best to find it. Good luck in the mean time.

Hi guys,

This has been covered in another thread; however, the first site below has recently been updated. The first link is to the song page of a great Tiger tank site, which now includes more lyrics and English translations. The second link is to the main Tiger tank site.

The next site (below) is excellent for buying original recordings, from Germany of the 1930's and 1940's (recently digitally cleaned and remastered, on CD).Be certain to read the whole page. At the bottom of the page is an address and contact information. Enjoy!

That site is great, Helmut Von Moltke! They also have a danish ww2 song, for Freikorps Danmark, later Regiment 24 in 11. SS Nordland. From what I know there also was a swedish song(but not on that site), recorded in 1942 I think.

hello Stalingrad,

the Swedish WWII song you are referring to is "Friheten Leve". It was the song of the Swedish national socialist party, and was sometimes sung at the front by Swedish Waffen-SS volunteers. And the Danish Waffen-SS song you referred to, Vi Er Danske Legionarre, it sounded great, I loved it! :D (Even though I first heard it way before, December last year...)

anyways here are the lyrics to "Friheten Leve".
i tätnande led marscherar ungdomen fram

regards,

Kevin
