Hopefully this is a correct section for this question? Couldn't think of any other section where this question would belong to.
I already tried to ask this in another forum, but I didn't get any response and the question probably isn't too hard?
I wonder could anyone tell me about the 94er memorial, that was (is?) located in Weimar?
Like what for it was erected and is it still standing there?
I tried to search internet about this, but I could only come up with German sites and unfortunately my German isn't so good that I could read long text's without a problem.
However I did gather, that it has something do with Franco-Prussian war?
Any English links, information etc would be really much appriciated.

I'm not familiar with the monument in Weimar, but the 94th Regiment (one of whose three battalions was recruited in Weimar) bore the brunt of the fighting at the Battle of Worth (Alsace) on 6 August 1870. It was the bloodiest battle of the war ending, finally, in a major French defeat.
Hope this helps.
