Hello to all ; something new.....................................
French Destroyer L'Adroit T23.
On May 20, around 23:00 hours, while waiting the departure of the tanker SALOME, accompanied by two destroyers, she was attacked by German planes (He-111). A bomb hit, transversed the ship and exploded just in front of the bridge. A third of the ship was ripped and she was stranded on the beach of Malo-les-Bains at 00:35 hours where she burst into flames. As she had just been reloaded with ammunition and torpedoes for a mission in the Scheldt estuary, the crew abandoned her and also were evacuated the population of Malo-les-Bains. At 02:30 hours the ship was destroyed by seven blasts. The impressive wreck was later the target of numerous photographers.
