Hi Andy H.,
Thanks for some intersting obscurities that have previously escaped my attention regarding the service of East Africans.
I am a child of 5 KAR, as almost my first memories are of that battalion during my father's service in it over 1958-61. I have the KAR regimental history somewhere. I will dig it out and see if it mentions East African pioneers.
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission website contains details of the numbers of people buried in its Tobruk cemetary by nationality. There appear to be no East Africans included.
Cheers,
Sid.
