Airlanding Infantry

The airlanding infantry battalion appears to be one of the largest British infantry battalions with four companies of four platoons. Does anyone have a organization description of this battalion including support elements at battalion level? Did the airlanding infantry brigade also posess combat support elements as it's regular infantry division counterpart did?

Thanks, I had the site I didn't think of using it for it's OB info. It gives a good outline of the platoons of a battalion and its companies. Some differences between it and the description in the handbooks.

Jeff, There is a detailed breakdown of a battalion in the book "When Dragons Flew" ISBN 1857940482 which is the history of 1st Borders.

According to Forty's British Army HB, apart from 4 pl per coy, the distinguishing feature was the AA/ATk Coy with 2 AA Pls, ea 6 x 20mm, 2 ATl Pls ea 4 x 6 pr.

The AA Platoons were disbanded after Normandy.
