Hello Everyone,
I would like to show you an item that I found in july during my trip to Austria. There is the M44 Field Tunic of the SS-Oberscharfuehrer (3rd SS Panzer Division). The problem is that there is some differences between the standart type and presented one. Has anybode seen something like this before? I'm almost sure that this is an original one - it was found in in a basement of an old house in one of the villages around Linz. It was hided in a wardrobe between old civilian clothes. The smell and abrasions of the collar also refers to "good old days" :-).
The main differences are as follows:
- lack of the sixth button (the upper one near collar)
- lack of inner regulation straps and straps under the collar
- the full linen including the backside
- only one breast pocket
There are also some ordnance codes stamped inside like: "SS-BW", the size chart, and unknown: "I.9 1944" and "108K 194..."
I suppose it could be the lat modification or unknown variation of the standard type.
Photos of described item:
Thanks for help!

Re: M44 Field Tunic - identification needed.
Greetings,
Your tunic is a converted swedish tunic. The give away is the size marking (108K). The three crowns are probably inked over.
