PzGren officer beret piping Waffenfarbe?

Post by arshak »

hi everybody
just a little question on the use of Waffenfarbe: the officers’ peak cap piping is always in the Waffenfarbe, es. Panzergrenadiers with Grass green? I’ve managed to see reconstructions with White (infantry) and red (artillery), but never Grass green or yellow (recoinassance), for example. thank you in advance
regards

I am not criticising the use of these examples to illustrate headgear waffenfarbe but would like to point out that whatever the cap with the Waffen-SS insignia on it is, it is not a Waffen-SS GJ NCO's cap.

Paddy, the photos originally came from the now defunct N&T Militaria, who supplied most of the AHF gallery photos. As you probably know, they were known for offering some dubious items amongst their genuine articles.

As you say, however, the pictures do the job of illustrating the Waffenfarbe.
