I'm wondering if anyone could take a look at the unit marking on this ring and let me know if they recognize the unit - I've had the ring for years, known that it had to be something to do with Panzer, but only just now got around to taking some photos.
Thanks!
(PS feel free to move this post if I've placed it in the wrong forum).

Purchasing one of these types of rings when in North Africa was quite common for DAK members - they usually had a palm tree, "DAK", swastika, etc. But a unit marking is not so common - from my own reasearch, I am assuming that the clipped shiled is for some type of PAnzer or panzergrenadier unit, but I was hoping that someone here could tell me the exact unit.Willhelm Gruber II wrote:perhaps a soldiers memorial ring from when he went to Afrika Maybe?
or wounded or some other significent event
i have seen the sort of thing on helmets but not rings before

Hi Christoph, yes it's me; really? A Luft unit? I thought I had checked your entire website, but couldn't find such a marking. Would you happen to have a photo?Christoph Awender wrote:Hello
I guess you are the same person who sent me an email. It is most likely the emblem of III./ZG 26 - A Luftwaffe unit.

Thanks,
