Hello karlo,

I am going to tell you right away that it is almost impossible to tell for sure if it is real or a fake clothing article by looking at the pictures. Also, the uniforms changed drastically over the course of the war and a 1945 tunic looks nothing like a 1939.

What I can say for sure is that the insignia is correct and in its right place. Personally I am not an expert on SS Clothing so I safely cannot say for sure real or not.

If it is not real, then it is a really good reproduction that would certainly look nice in a collection.

I hope this has helped a little,

Cheers,

CRK

If you have access to the actual item, look at its general wear and tear (does it look 60 years' old?), and look for modern materials such as nylon thread, (a drastic test -nylon melts!), etc.
