It was Christmas, and also the 55th wedding anniversary of an elderly couple.
He promised her breakfast in bed.
"What would you like dear ? "
"I would like a Belgian waffle with whip cream", and please write it down so you won't forget".
"I won't forget dear ! anything else ?"
"Oh yes with some sliced strawberries on top and powdered sugar on it". "but write it down, so you won't forget "
"I won't dear, anything else ? '
"yes, a small glass of orange juice would be nice", but please write it down so you won't forget".
"I won't forget dear", that's it ? "
So off he goes into the kitchen..............
A little;later he comes back with a tray. On it, a vase with a flower,some fried eggs, slices of ham, and a cup of coffee.
She: "you dummy !, I told you to write it down so you would not forget ! Where is my toast ? "
