It's February 1945 and a train load of American POWs are heading to Dresden. While a number of GIs are groaning about the cold, one older looking GI remarks, "Cold? This is nothing. Troy (New York) in '37, that was cold." The character mentions Troy in '37 once of twice more, but none of the GIs respond. Moments later, Billy the central character of the story looks over at the GI from Troy, New York and he is gone, a victim of hypothermia.
Does anyone know who the actor was that played the GI from Troy, New York?
"What are they going to do, send me to Vietnam?"
A oft heard GI refrain in Vietnam in '68.
