Message to Lupo!!

Post by Commissar D, the Evil »

For some insane reason my AOL account will not allow me to reply to your kind Christmas e-mail, so I'm posting it here in the hopes that you might read it:

"Dear, Dear Lupo, hearing from you is one of the highlights of this Christmas!!!

But a diet at Christmas time???? Well, coming from one living in the land of the greatest cuisine in the world, it bloody well doesn't surprise me!!! All you have to do is move to the People's Republic of New Jersey for a few months! I promise you that the inedible quality of our food will starve you into submission in a very short time. Don't go to Prit in England though, I read his menus and grow fat just from the reading!

Truly, it is grand to hear from you!!!

My fellow Forum Hero--don't you dare stay out of contact again for so long!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMASS LUPO SOLITAIRE!!!!

Very Best,
David (Say, have you heard from Fridolin lately?)"

I think more than a few of us "old hares" on the forum miss you!!

Very Best,
David

Buona Natale, Lupo!

(At least I think that's what I'm supposed to write! You know what I mean, though! )

ok, ok, thanks a lot to Commissar for his kind words and for having courtesely told world from Anchorage to Sidney about my actual little health trouble  Anyway, be quiet it's only for some month...

Remember that I'm still in command of a JSU regiment in your guard corps. Don't try to leave me at home when forum heroes move.

Last infos I have about Fridolin were about a book he has recently written. I was thinking if ordering it or not. I'd like to know something about him, too

Apart jokes, Merry Christmas to you all

PS Marc, think to ratatouille and onion soup!

Oh, sorry Lupo.

Still, it is the best cuisine in the world.......

Professor Fridolin graciously mailed me copies of his books. They are quite scholarly accounts of archaeological finds of weapons, swords, knives, etc., fro the iron age. Very Good Stuff.

Best,

Hi guys!

QUite busy these past months, but still have time to pop in occasionally. Miss you much, my old comrades!
Lupo, tell me by PM what recent book of mine are you referring to (Military Standards in the Ancient World? First Iron Age Greaves and Swords?) and if at all possible, I'll snail mail you a copy.

(Adjusts Feldgrau jacket and fails to notice top of brandy bottle poking out of ammunition pouch)

Late to this, comrades, but all the best to you all. Life here in England has taken a dangerous turn professionally, keeping me unexpectedly busy over the holiday, and consequently it looks likely to be ab 'interesting' year, in the full meaning of the Chinese curse.

If any of you lot happen to stray into the Oxford area, drop me a line and a drink awaits you.

Jaysus Christ Folks, I despaired at ever seeing the original Forum Heroes on one thread ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JOYOUS, JOYOUS NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To all of you, I say that we settle our quarrels, mend our fences and continue on as the GREAT, GOOD FRIENDS we were in the Past!!!

Very Best,
