This may sound bizarre, but I actually like listening to a non-operatic version of La Marseillaise. The Russian version is interesting as well.

Avete,

Erika would have to be the number one choice for me.

Westerwald, Schatz ach Schatz, Lilli Marleen, and especially Erika. Panzerlied is not really a marching song, I do not believe., but perhaps I am mistaken. Regardless, it is also is one of my personal favorites. The instrumental theme at the troop formation at Stalingrad is quite transfixing. I wish I knew what it was called. With the German Wehrmacht, the hits just keep on coming!

You mean the one in the opening scene where an officer from the Afrika campaign speaks? The march is"prasesntemarch" or something like that, some Prussian march written by King Fredrick III of Prussia in the 1810s Napoleonic era. Also if you are intrested about music in Stalingrad movie, the ones they sing on the train is "Ein Heller und die Batzen", and when travelling to combat the T34s in the snow they sing "O Tannebaum", a christmas tune, not a soldier's song, but nevertheless popular with soldiers on Christmas.

Hoped this helped :D

I'm happy to see another "Military music thread" :D
I like most of the marches, but here is my favourites:
Unser Rommel ( I did'nt like it so much when I first heared it, but now things have changed and I really do like this one)
Westerwald
Panzergrenadier Lied
Panzerlied
Lisa, Lisa
Es war ein Edelweiss
Pruessens Gloria
Ade Polenland

And many others, who's name I've forgotten. This may be a little off topic, but I am a big fan of Bavarian folkmusic.

Grüss Gott, Kameraden!

Hi!

My favorite is "Waldmansheil" - it's suitable for German military power of WWII
Greetings

Is there a way to verify the title of that song? You seem unsure. Of course I know O Tannenbaum. Stalingrad had its flaws, but it was still a good movie. I just wish it was less politcal. The demonization of that officer as epitomy of the regime was hand over fist.

You mean the Hauptmann who has the EK, and at the end when he was trying to go to battle Rohleder followed him?
