An amazing, but not a very nice experience, this Monster was build to KILL.
Michael
Thats the same thing what a thought after i saw the leo from near, and turned on his machine. At this moment i understand what a Panzer is, and for what it realy build.
Did YOU ever watch such a LEO yourself, in full combat, it is a MONSTER, to "ride" this", even as a guest, is an experience, you never forget.
The best Tank worldwide, even nowadays, a "Monster" to ride, not just plain fun, this "Machine" makes YOU think, about war...

Whats the problem to be a fan of the LEO? I like it too very much. And i know for what it build. Its great technic. That doesnt mean that i want to kill people with this "monster". And i hope it never have to go in battle.
As an "Ex-Tanker", conc. to the LEO 1/2, many years ago, the best Tank of all times, but this is a "machine" to kill other people, thats it, and for this were were trained at that time, for nothing else.
Well, in relation to a question asked by another question of this forum, did the fact that in a war you would be killing other Germans ever affect you during your service?
you guys are bumming me out with all this modern tank stuff. Trained to "kill" etc.
My panzer was the bloody useless piece of junk called T55 - the Ruski job. I figured my job was to get killed. luckily I only had to learn how to crew it since I worked for the "boss" and he wanted his crew to be able to handle any vehicle / weapon we had. Still the worst four months of my military career - but certainly good for my historical perspective!
We'd have killed all right - to get our hands on a Leopard (which everyone talked about endlessly) or Elephant (a South African upgrade of Centurion).
After the war I got into a national guard M-60 at a gun show in California - what a daggone hotel that was! I had now idea what a "real" tank was like inside! Big!!!
Now that I've seen Abrahms in action I know what I want. That thing is sweet. Nothing like a panzer that enemy weapons don't penetrate!
