I got to talk to him tonite. His mind is a little fuzzy from drugs and fatigue, but he sounded normal! To use his word, "cantankerous!"

O.K. friends, I am back.
Definitely not the old self; lost quite a few pounds. :( :? :D
Believe me this is not the way to lose weight.
Recuperation will take a little yet, but we'll get there.

Thank you for all the well wishes.

Happy Newyear !!!!

Thanks, Tom, that's the note I was hoping for.
I take this opportunity to wish him a Happy New Year.
And to all of you here as well :D

Hi Rudi,
I have a small message that I wish to pass to you as well as to all WW2 vets participating to this forum.
I am in regular contact with 2 French WW2 vets, one was in the Resistance (FTP, underground guerilla), the other one with the small Free French Airforce of De Gaulle.
I told them about you and the other vets in this forum.
They both had the same attitude:
They would be delighted to have some exchanges with those whom the former pilot calls "Our comrades in death and misery" but none of them speaks English, so they cannot join here...
On their behalf, I can only send to you and all other vets the salute of 2 old french guys who forgot the hatred but not the shared misery.
Regards
Daniel Laurent
