was indeed named after the lowland Scottish town of Jedburgh - and after a period of joint American-British operations under that operational title, the O.S.S. took it over 100% as the British ran low on funding for their element of Jedburgh and the Americans took it over, becoming the O.S.S.' main operational contribution to the war in Europe and the Far East.
