Lets stay on the subject of WWII pilots.

Here's a young candidate. He's better known for his
achievements after 1945. He too had something
painted on the side of his plane... 8)

The ferret features remind me of a young Frank Sinatra LOL but he didn't have any military service in WWII that I'm aware of.

Nothing...? More clues then!

He was a WWII "Ace in a day" pilot
His girlfriend/later wife's name (nothing to do with the "Mexican Lady"!) ;)
was on the side of his fighter - a name seen on at least two of his planes.

Next will be a picture of him again, 1944 - until then just the above!

Correct this time IRONHORSE!

Yeager named his first Mustang Glamorus Glen after Glennis his girlfriend and later wife.
The first plane had a missplelling, which was corrected to Glamorous on No. II and III...
A strange orange plane, faster than sound would also carry this name (actually Glennis) many years later.
A name almost identical to the previous riddle of John Glenn 8)

Then I'll be "whom ever" since nobody else's picking up the glove...

A standard who are these two and of course what's the connection type of riddle! A rather unusual kind of special connection this time...

So, time for a clue then...

Herr A was obviously a Waffen-SS Officer decorated with the RK but that fact didn't keep him from running into some trouble, potentially very serious trouble with Herr B.

Suspensful regards,

Herr A: SS-Sturmbannführer Erich Olboeter
Herr B: Gauleiter Wilhelm Murr
Link: Murr's son Wilifred

In January 1944, Witt's new command was the subject of a major scandal. Early in the month, SS-Untersturmführer Wilifred Murr, an officer in SS-Sturmbannführer Erich Olboeter's SS-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 12, had in a drunken state, raped a 15 year old Belgian girl after threatening her parents with his pistol. Murr was the son of Wilhelm Murr, Gauleiter of Stuttgart. Olboeter heard of the incident, and along with SS-Sturmbannführer Dr. Eberhard Denzel, the division's legal officer, visited Murr in his room and persuaded him that he should make use of his pistol to avoid embarrassing his family. As soon as the officers had left, Murr did so. Murr's father soon heard details of what had happened, and enraged wrote to Martin Bormann demanding an investigation.
In the resulting investigation, Olboeter was demoted and transferred to command of the III. Battalion of SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment 26.

Waleed you darn Dane... Again... :D Well, hat's off...

And here I was going to show a picture of Gerhard Bremer who succeded Olboeter as commander of the Aufklärungs-Abt. after this incident... Except from Murr who shot himself, the most damaged career was that of Sturmbannführer Dr. Eberhard Denzel. Degraded to the rank of a lowly grenadier and was placed in the SS-Panzergrenadier Rgt. 6 (Totenkopf Division). SS-Sturmbannführer Erich Olboeter went on to win the RK on 28.07.1944 while commanding III.(gp.)/SS-Pz.GR 26 but died of combat wounds shortly after in France on 02.09.1944. Gauleiter Murr commited suicide after the capitulation in 1945. Quite a drama...

Well, there's quite a lot to read about this incident on the Internet, just search for Olboeter in different WWII forums ( ) and you will find! The sources for Gauleiter Murr's photograph was the always excellent photo website http://presentations.uib.no/pls/portal/ ... _PART.show and the source for Erich Olboeter was http://www.axishistory.com (If I remember correctly).

And I can with great pleasure again say... Your turn Waleed :!:

He,he! Swedes, you Swedes...
Easy once Murr's uniform was identified...

Next will also be a linkage between men. Young men at first...
Both born with the "von" in their names.
They would grow up to be enemies - one as an officer leading young men,
the other as a private and officers batman.

Who are they and what is the special connection?
