Hi
Does anyone know something about an MG brigade attached to 3rd Army in 1942?
I can't even find an MG Brigade formation at all for the Romanians, so maybe it was something smaller.

Re: Romanian MG Brigades?
A couple of years ago, I acquired quite a few Romanian-language sources on the Army during WW2 for a project I was working on.
The MG Battalions were remnants of the pre-WWII Infantry Division organization. Each Infantry Division had an MG Battalion within it’s organization prior to WWII. In the late 1930’s, these units were detached from their respective divisions, and made Corps-level assets, corresponding to home depot recruitment zones. In practice, some divisions retained their respective MG Battalion. After the Battle of Odessa, the MG Battalions appear to have been disbanded (by 11/41).
