There was a Reserve regiment of UVV (Ukrainian Liberation Army) in Danemark. I believe it was around 500-1000 men.

Russian volunteers

Post by HaEn »

There were a couple of hundred "Ukrainers" in the Wachtbatallion 3 at camp Amersfoort; later some of these men ended up in the Landstorm Nederland (34thSS) There was a batallion of Georgians on the island of Texel, who revolted against the Germans towards the end, probably hoping to save their butts by the Allies. Regards. HN.

HaEn,

Where can I read up on those Ukrainers? Where did you read about Ukr. in Landstrom Nederland? I am interested, as I try to find out info on Ukrainians in other SS div. besides Galicia.

Hi there,

There were Ost-Truppen stationed in Zandvoort aan Zee.
Legion Freies Indien was also stationed there for a while.
The Ost-Truppen (Georgian Troops) later revolted against
the Germans on the isle of Texel. There leader was Loladze.
This revolt lasted till 20th of mai 1945.

Kind regards, Erwin

Apologies and Thanks

Post by alan newark »

Dear Friends

I am astounded at the various replies and wish to thank everyone for the interest and advice.

I have not been deliberately negligent! PLease keep it coming !!

I hav e recently moved house, then had my Yahoo account disabled because, due to lack of time, I had allowed it to be over-subscribed; then, I had some PC technical problems and THEN I had to go to Scotland to deal with family matters!!!!

However, I am now settled again in Yorkshire, England, my PC is being upgraded this week and I will have Broadband Internet and all necessary accessories on-line ( at last!).

I do apologise for the delay and will individually respond as soon as possible!!

I am still, BTW, keen to hear from Carlo and Herr Remmers in Berlin about my request for a 822nd Georgia B attalion Muster Roll for 1945...???

Best regards and thanks to all.
