Igorn,

Concerning your question.

"Concerning the sPzAbt 503 Tiger losses on Jan 11 1945 (knocked out by the Russian ISU-100 near Zamoly) I still did not get a reply on my question."

There is no reply since the refeference I used-TIC I- only shows the loss of two Tigers on that date. If another source shows something different then you must ask each of the books authors.

Anything I can add would only be speculation on my part.

Best regards,

Ron Klages

Ron,

Thanks for your reply. Actually the total loss of 3 Tigers on January 11 1945 in sPzAbt 503 was documented in the official cronicle of this unit published by Fedorowicz and confirmed by the first person account.
As per the diary of Dr von Diest-Koerber. On p. 314 he says: "We suffered three total losses (including the two Tigers on either side of me).

So, this is not pure speculations from my side.

Best Rgards from Russia,

".....Here is some info on 503.

When they arrived in Hungary on 12 October 1944 they had 45 Henschel Tiger IIs and 2 Porsche Tiger IIs.

# 200 lost on 1 November [Lt. Brodhagen]
# 313 lost on 2 November [Fw. Seidel]
# 322 lost on 2 November
# 300 lost on 3 November [Lt. Rambow]......"

Hello,

The 313 present day:

And 322 lost on 3 November (in may opinion).

I found a site with a short English biography of von Diest-Koerber on the internet a while back and now cannot find it again. Does anyone know the site I am referring to?

Thanks.
