Operation Konrad 1945 OOB?

Post by Nashorn Sdkfz164 »

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone could give me a complete breakdown of the German units which took part in the Konrad Operations conducted around Budapest in 1945. I'm pretty familiar with most of the major units, but need help in figuring out which independent battalions (ie. StuG and Panzerjaeger units) might have been involved.

Thanks in advance,

Nashorn

Some units

Here's a stepping stone at least (of the top of my head!).

s.Pz.Abt.503
s.Pz.Abt.509 (arrived mid Jan'45)
Heeres-Sturm-Artillerie-Bde 303 (Arrived mid jan'45)

I would recommend looking at the 'Panzerkeil' website. Under the 'Obscure formations' Link there is a listing of AT, Heavy Tank and Assault gun Brigades by designation. In most cases there is a brief outline of where each unit served.

Myself, I am urgently searching for a Soviet OOB of the same battle. Is anybody in a position to help with this?

Soviet OOB's

Post by donwhite »

Hello Qvist,
I have some Soviet OOB's in Microsoft Word Format as at 1st Jan'45 for 2nd & 3rd Ukranian Fronts. I could send them by email to you. Just send me a Private Message with your email address and I will forward them on. I would normally post them but they are rather long and I detest doing to much typing!

Cheers

Hi all,

can you wait until end of this year, because I am preparing a detailed article on that (not just Konrad, but the Soviet attack before Konrad (from 20th of dec 1944), the Konrad 2 and the end of Konrad 3 (feb 1945)) with OOBs, daily maps.

If you cannot wait, I try to find some time for that...

Is it from the monthly OOB of the Soviet Army? (BSS?)
