Hi everyone,
I am building a diorama of a Pak 40 anti-tank gun. But I have a bit of a puzzle with how the ammo was packaged. I have a ammo model kit which comes with wooden crates for 3 shells, but also metal tubes for individual shells.
Could anyone please tell me, where the shells put in the metal tubes then in the wooden boxes? or was it one or the other/ if so what would decide which would be used, metal tube or wooden crate?
Thanks for any help.

Individual metal shell containers were used when loading into the Pz IV tank. For the Pak they came in wooden crates.
