Sdkfz 251/21 "Drilling"

Post by bradhunter »

In a Kriegsgliederung for the final organization of the late-war Panzer Brigade from NARA, a notation appears "Drillinge auf Lkw." At first glance, this appears to be a "Drilling" kit mounted on a truck, or is this a reference to the Sdkfz 251/21?

No, It is a Drilling mounted on a truck for the defence of the supply unit. I have seen a pic of two Drillings mounted on a large French truck in the Paris area.

They are clearly marked on the chart within their various companies.
