Hi

I didn't notice Valsts Elektrotehniskā Fabrika of Riga there, who made the Minox cameras and presumably other optical material. Incidentally, Wikipaedia refersw to the US government purchasing Minox cameras mid war. Were they produced under licence there?

Cheers

Hello Peter:
The list I posted is certainly not complete, and is just a starting point, so your addition is welcome. I've done a quick search and have not located a code for VEF of Riga, but will post it if I do. The OSS purchased 25 Minox cameras to start, then more as they were produced under patent in the USA. I always wondered about the origin of Minox, so now I know  Best wishes to you.

Glad it was a useful pointer. The Wikipaedia entry is quite good.

Cheers
