The paint seems to have been rubbed off by the track "teeth", the same thing happened on the Panther.

The Pz Kw II Ausf. D/E was used by the light divisions, in this case the 3. Le Div. In 1938 Daimler-Benz was commissioned to redesign the Pz Kw II looking for more speed and agility, the result was the Pz Kw II Ausf. D / E which had a completely new chassis and suspension. The turret and cannon were taken from the version Ausf. C. Its suspension arrangement of four large, rubber-tired, Christie-type bogie wheels large enough to eliminate return rollers.

Usually the numbering on the tanks' turrets had three figures (company, platoon and tank) but in this case these Pz Kw II carried only two (company and platoon?). Any idea which unit had this type of numbering (two digits)?
