German Bayonet

Post by ilduce889 »

I was recently cleaning out my deceased grandfather's(he was the chief fleet surgeon and probably picked it up while near africa) house, when i came across a german bayonet. It has "42 cof" stamped on the scabbard and "3311" on both too. Under the "42 cof" on the bayonet, it has a small " * " and under the "3311" it has a " b " I kinda figured what the "42" means, but could anyone help me with the other part? Thank you.
