What was the disposition of German Medical personel (doctors, nurses, and medics) captured by the Americans and other allies near the front? Were they released and allowed to return to the axis lines or were they sent to prisoner of war camps?

According to Geneva convention which is signed by most of the nations except soviet union , Medics are protected from any type of harrasment , but they were also treated as prisoner of war like other soldiers.When the German medics were captured by Americans and other western allies then they were allies they were treated as p.o.w and were send to pow camps ,they maybe forced to work for American and allies as long as needed after that they were sended to camp ,many German medic worked for Americans either by force or by will. But when they were captured by soviet union then their condition is not good they were not treated well many nurses were raped and harrased by red army soldiers .German medics may be shoot if captured by red army ,its all upon the red army officer whether they wanted to kill the medic or send them to camp .this is bcz soviet union was not part of Geneva convention as others, That s why German medics became primary targets of soviet snipers too while the other allies don 't fire on medics until the Medic open fire on them. no German medic is allowed to return to axis lines bcz if allowed they will joins their troops again,
