Hello to all :D; may be still be of interest for someone...........................

The Waffen SS in the occupation of the Sudetenland - 1938!

The unfavorable experiences during the annexation of the Eastern (Bavarian) Mark (Austria) caused that the Wehrmacht did not hurry in incorporating the Waffen SS during the occupation of the Sudetes that had been yielded to Germany by the Munich Agreement. However, at the insistence of the Reichsführer SS Himmler, the SS-Deutschland and the SS-Germania regiments followed in the footsteps of the Army units (the LAH had already been incorporated into the XIV. AK Mot). However there were protests by the army units as Himmler had instructed not to follow the directives given by the OKW (High Command of the Wehrmacht). As a compromise solution the SS-Verfügunstruppen were subordinated to the military structure and thus the SS-Deutschland was integrated into the VII. AK and the SS-Germania in the IV. AK .....................
