My grandfather was a SS Kriegsberichter from the Netherlands. He made drawings at the Eastfront. Can anybody help where to find information about him? Which division/brigade or Kompagnie did he serve in? What were his whereabouts. Wherw will be the original drawings 9I have some copies).

Hi

I do not have much information on Wilhelm Theodorus Zwagers.
Would Amsterdam be correct for his place of birth??

Other than that he was as you say he was a artist or Zeichner.
And was a member of the Waffen SS Kriegsberichter unit SS Standarte Kurt Eggers.

He was with the Stab of the unit in early 1942 , he was then assigned to the SS KB Zug Freiwillige Legion Nederland december 1942 and covered the fighting around Leningrad 1942-1943.
He was as far as i am aware with the 34th SS Landstorm Nederland Holland in late 1944 early 45.

Not sure where he was between 1943 and 1944 he may have stayed with Nederland.

How do you now that he covered the fighting in leningrad and that he was with the 34th SS landstorm in the lat 44, begin 45. What are your sources?
I have letter from the Ministry of Defense that he was part of Kompagnie 625 at the end of the war...
