Nachricten Officer SS Untersturmfuhrer Karl-Heinz Schenk

Karl-Heinz Schenk was an SS Untersturmfuhrer and the Nachrichten Offizier ( Signals Officer ) with SS Panzer Auflarungs Abt 12.

Karl- Heinz was born on 28/2/1923, he survived the war and died on 3/12/2002. His SS Number was 466535 .

Has anyone any further information regarding this Officer,

sorry i wasn't very clear
The second one is your man that's the additional information on the fuhrer list
But there is also one mentioned in twelve years with hitler not sure if its the same man.

Paul - Well I am sure about Sckenk's connection with the 2./Nachr.Abt. LAH in July 1941 because I found that information in his Personalakte. Schenk was actually a member of the Funkkompanie LAH from 6.1.1941 - 4.5.1942 and I used that information for the entry in the A - Z list of my "Führerliste der Waffen-SS" publication where Jamie found it as he has a copy.

Hi John,
could he have started out in the 1st kompanie LSSAH then moved to the signals kompanie or been attached to the 1st kompanie as a signaler.As there is no information in the Epilogue for members of the 1st kompanie in 12 years with hitler just the name.

There is nothing in the Personalakte of Karl-Heinz Schenk, 28.2.1923, to indicate that he was ever a member of the 1./LAH. Upon entering the W-SS in October 1940 he was assigned to the signal training unit in Nürnberg and then to the 2./NA LAH. If you do a VDK search under "Schenk, Karl-Heinz" you will turn up four matches. While none of these four were in the W-SS, it does show that Karl-Heinz Schenk was not an uncommon name

Many thanks John and Jamie , that is excellent further info on Karl-Heinz , he is the cousin of a good friend of mine also from Soltau who served with the DF Regiment ,
