Hi I'm trying to see if and which SS units operated in Yugoslavia before the forming of 7th "Prinz Eugen" division in spring 1942.

You might want to check the operational info for the LSSAH. I don't know offhand if the LSSAH was referred to as the 1st SS Panzer Div prior to 1942. I believe they might have gone through there on the way to taking Greece.

LAH : 8 april 41 cross boundarie of yugoslavia west of Kustendil (vert. AA/LAH) and on Ogosovska -Plateau . as soon as 9 april enter in Greece with XXXX AK
Das Reich : april 41 involved in campaign in Serbia included Belgrad
no totenkopfstandarten (at my knowledge)
