Hi
I am in the process of making a sculpture of this man as a higher ss & police leader, but all the photos i have
of him seem to show him in normal black & silver insignia . I thought he might have worn green & gold ss
insignia for a police general . Also did he ever wear a police arm eagle & stripes on his breeches, can any one
help me .

Re: Erich von dem Bach Zelewski insignia
Please not his name was Erich von dem Bach, he dropped the Zelewski part early in the war. I do not think he ever wore any Schutzpolizei badges as his Police rank was because of his status as a HSSPF, hisd bacxkground was with the Allgemeine SS

Hi Phil
Thanks for that , i knew about him dropping the Zelewski i think he thought it
sounded Polish, but as for the insignia would he have been entitled to wear it even tho there dosen't appear to be any photographic evidence of this

Be was never a member of the Schutspolizei or the Gendarmerie His police rank was because he was Higher SS and Polizeiführer and he was not entitled to wear police uniformmichael welch wrote:Hi Phil

Very good the only comment I would make is that he is too thin . In real life he was rather tubbymichael welch wrote:Thanks for that. I have finised the sculpture of Von Dem Bach see what you think here http://www.michaelwelchsculptures.com/c ... -zelewski/
