Anyone can tell from what country this soldier is? I notice a shield on the shoulder boards. Can't tell what it is.

Hello

It is a fieldpolice man from "Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler". Most likely a german. The cyphers on the shoulder straps are the "LAH" symbol.

Hello Berlin!

I saw in your other post that you belonged to the LSSAH between May 1941 and December 1948(?).
I WAS IN THE "LEIBSTANDARTE SS ADOLF HITLER"FROM 1. MAY 1941 TILL 27. DEC.1948 SO MY PAPERS SAY.
viewtopic.php?f=42&t=24394

Which unit(s) within this premier SS Division did you belong to during the war? And what do your papers say about May 1945 to December 1948? POW camp? Camp authority papers?

This is not a reenactment photo as this one belongs to a famous roll taken by SS-Kriegsberichter Franz Roth who was attached to Leibstandarte. Other photos of the same series show SS-Feldgendarmen in an ukrainian village in search of weapons. These ones were found and destroyed in a yard by an SS-Obersturmführer. Suspected partisans are then brought out from a barn and interrogated. Another roll from the same series show the SS-Feldgendarmen kill a russian political commissar in a wheat field.

The weapon is definitely a Tokarev SVT40.
