artillery officer kruger aboard linienschiff schlesien

Post by jmdeur »

posted this over on the personalities board, but think that it might fit better over here (new to this domain, so not sure about all of this yet).

anyway, trying to track down some information about an artillery officer by the name of kruger (or krueger - it's a u umlaut) who was serving aboard schlesien in the 1920s. am looking for any information, like his full name, service record, etc.

thanks in advance for any help that can be offered or even suggestions of where to look....

SCHLESIEN

A little bit difficult question without additional information ....

SCHLESIEN commissioned not before march 1, 1927, after World War One.
She sailed to Norway in july 1928 and was part of the Atlantic fleet exercises in april and may 1929 - the only important journeys during the questioned time.

The commanding officers during this time were:
Kpt.z.S. Werner TILLESSEN (03.27-09.27)
FKpt./Kpt.z.S. SAALWÄCHTER (09.27-09.28)
FKpt./Kpt.z.S. Max BASTIAN (10.28-09-29)
Kpt.z.S. Kurt ASSMANN (09.29-09-32)

Unfortunately there were a lot of KRÜGER´s in the German navy!
I could identify the following KRÜGER´s with an "artillery career":

Erwin Krüger:
crew V/19-21, born in 1902
Friedrich Krüger:
crew I/17, born in 1898
Hans Krüger:
crew I/15, born in 1895
Hans Krüger:
crew IV/18, born in 1900

Not much, but perhaps something useful for you ...
