Source for aircraft types of pre-war Luftwaffe units?

I am trying to find out the types of aircraft flown by various Luftwaffe units in the late 1930s.

Is there a source that gives the progressive re-equipment of Luftwaffe units by type during this period?

Many thanks,

Sid.

Hello Sid,

Have you checked out the early volumes ("The Birth of the Luftwaffe") from Classic Publications' "Classic Colors" series? The books provide aircraft specs, production dates (I think!?!), and info on the units they flew with - including identification info.

Hope that helps.

Regards,

Wurger

Henschel Hs 123
built to a 1933 requirement ended production in 1939
At the out break of war in Sept.'39 only II.(S)/LG 2 was still equipped with the aircraft. They used it in the polish and french campaign. Was still flying it during the invasion of the Balkins in 1941. II.(S)/LG 2 was redesignated II./SG2 and was still flying the Hs 123 when it was withdrawn from service in mid-1944.
I got this info from Aircraft of World War II by Francis K. Mason
Is this the type of info. you wnated?

Hello to all :D; talking about the fighters ................

Heinkels of the J. / 88 in Spain.

However the He-112 is subject to controversy since according to sources one reads the 5-1 would be the V3, V4 or V6.
