Collision between aircrafts (on the ground)

Post by tigre »

Hello to all :D; something about this oddity (or not) ....................................

Collision between two aircrafts on the ground. Sicily - Italy.

From what I could gather this strange accident took place on March 7, 1941 at the airfield of Catania (Sicily) between a SM-79 and Ju-88A-5 of the 4. / LG 1 during a engine test (I guess of the Sparviero). The the aircraft was without brakes during tests.................

Hello Raul,
That are the same aircrafts as on your first post, I think!!!!

Here is something new.
But it was in first a mid-air collision who toke place at the RAF Training School at Brocklidge on the 29th of septembre 1940

A different view of the “Brocklesby Incident” in 1940 – amazingly the crews of both aircraft were not seriously injured – they all bailed out except for the pilot of the top aircraft who crashlanded the locked together aircraft using the flying controls of his Anson but the power of the engines of the lower Anson (photo source: Ian Rose collection)

On 23 June 1941, this Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-1/B (W.Nr. 3864) of 4./JG 77 collided with this rumanian Fleet F-10G of Escadrila 115 legatura at Roman airfield. The Bf 109 was 35% damaged and later converted into a E-7. It was later used by Vladimir FERENCINA of 15.(Kroat.)/JG 52 - Avions n°190.............
