Hello:
For years I have been trying to identify a FW-190 making a strafing run in the Mariagrube/Mariadrof and Alsdorf Germany area on December 1st, 1944.
All I know:
Date: 1 December 1944
time: around noon to 1:00pm local time
The FW 1990 was strafing in the area of Alsdorf and an unknown town when it was fired upon by and then strafed an American unit near the slag pile at Mariagrube, (near Mariadrof)Germany.
Unknown to the pilot, the unit involved was the 978th Engineer Maintenance company and two enlisted men were wounded.
Any help or suggestion for where to look would be much appreciated.
